The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the Warehouse in order to achieve and maintain performance guidelines set forth by the General Manager. In essence, a 24 hour maximum time limit is expected for all inbound materials to be received and for all daily orders to be fulfilled.
Must have the ability to positively motivate and lead subordinates in a matter that is balanced for the business as well as the associates. Must be able to communicate and explain business needs clearly and effectively. Interpersonal skills must be excellent. Regular meetings must be held with General Manager, Supervisory Staff and as well with all warehouse associates in order to keep awareness of changing business needs and associate feedback in constant focus. Warehouse shipping status updates and work schedule hours must be announced daily.
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for achieving high levels of engagement with Warehouse Associates as well as the determination of staffing levels and hours to be worked. The Warehouse Manager must review changes to staffing, overtime needs or pay changes with the General Manager prior to implementation.
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for ensuring that Processes, Procedures and Training Guidelines are clear, concise and documented for all tasks. Best practices are to be utilized to constantly improve any and all tasks. Revisions to these areas must be reviewed with the General Manager before implementation. A clear and comprehensive Training Guide must be adhered to and available for associate review at all times as well as ensuring that any and all ABC Training requirements are met. Additional duties as assigned.
Associate productivity must be evaluated frequently for all warehouse tasks. Associates must be regularly informed as to their performance. In general, associates who are performing well need to be advised that their performance is appreciated. Associates who are under performing must be shown where improvement is needed so they may grow their productivity to desired levels. The Warehouse Manager will involve the Warehouse Supervisors for input on performance as well as merit increase but is solely responsible for the content as well as the presentation of all Performance Evaluations. This encompasses all warehouse associates including Supervisors.
Attention to detail and the ability to understand, determine, explain and learn from root causes of issues is a must.
Must be able to perform multiple tasks and / or delegate tasks as needed to as situations arise.
Must be proficient in the ability to prioritize work and complete assignments accurately, either independently or as part of a team, possibly under pressure and with frequent interruptions, working from own initiative and/or following direction, policies, or procedures,. Must maintain paperwork and / or files in a manner that that permits easy access to or retrieval of information. Must keep office and work environment clean and organized.
Basic math skills including ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and ability to use a calculator.
Must have Intermediate to Advanced personal computer skills. Must be able to create Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations and Word Documents.
