Job Description:

THIS IS AN ONSITE POSITION LOCATED IN SPOKANE, WASHINGTON.

POSITION SUMMARY 

Directs and coordinates activities of team member engagement in procurement and internal movement and processing of commercial parts, equipment, machinery, and supplies supporting the manufacturing, installation, and customer support by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Responsible for purchased material logistics and supplier quality 

  • Executes active resource management to prevent manufacturing bottlenecks and ensure on time delivery 

  • Manages supplier base to ensure efficiency/quality/price performance and established monitoring measures and communication systems that drive vendors to continuously improve  

  • Manages and supports organizational controls, regulations, and practices 

  • Monitors the timely and accurate placement of purchase orders and receipt of material 

  • Reviews and analyzes company inventory and stocking levels based on company objectives 

  • Responsible for freight cost, delivery timing, and communication 

  • Maintains supplier KPIs of on-time, on quality, and on-cost performance   

  • Identifies new suppliers and maintains alternative supplier relationships 

  • Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepares market analysis reports 

  • Provides the organization with timely and accurate status reports 

  • Ensures the timely and accurate placement of purchase orders and receipt of materials 

  • Prepares and issues purchasing orders and discrepant material notices in a timely manner 

  • Must be able to understand engineering drawings and communicate technical information to potential suppliers  

  

 

SUPPLEMENTAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Interprets and enforces company policies and safety regulations  

  • Must be able to understand engineering drawings and communicate technical information to potential suppliers  

  • Identifies and arranges for disposal of surplus or stagnant material inventory  

  • Provides performance and developmental feedback to peers and direct reports 

  • Facilitates supplier, facility lease, and equipment rental cost negotiations  

  • Collaboratively works with corporate supply chain counterparts to drive process improvements  

  • Develops and installs procedures and practices, studies workflow, sequence of operations, and office arrangements 

  • Ensures the proper and timely training of reporting personnel 

  • Other duties may be assigned as required  

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Manages, inspires, and motivates up to 50 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • CPM or APICS Certification preferred. 

 

Language Skills 

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customer, and the public. 

 

Mathematical Skills 

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  

 

Reasoning Ability  

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  

 

Other Skills and Abilities 

  • It is essential that the individual posses an expert skill level in communication, working with others, the development of personal habits in effective decision making, time management and negotiation.  

  • Ability to utilize personal computer equipped with business system, database, spreadsheet, and work processing software.

Able to sit at a desk or computer for sometimes extended periods of time.

Physically operate various types of office equipment including but no limited to photocopiers, fax machines, 10 key, computers, printers, etc.  

Meet requirements of daily attendance on job for a full, continuous work schedule.  

Compensation: $90,000-130,000 salary (DOE)
