SharePoint Business Analyst - Remote

As a key member of the IT team, the SharePoint Business Analyst will be responsible for the development, care, and feeding of the Direct Travel Intranet, its usage and content. This role will work across the organization to ensure consistency and adherence to the governance model, provide guidance to content developers, manage projects, and promote active engagement with the sites and their content. 


This role will ensure that the environment remains up to date and relevant through the continual review and training of site administrators and ongoing review through site analytics. Additionally, this role will work closely with IT Infrastructure and Security teams to ensure that proper user access and security controls are maintained, and that data remains protected and archived at appropriate intervals.


This role will work closely with stakeholders and users across all functional areas including but not limited to Legal, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Communications, Security & Compliance and IT, and will report to the VP of IT Operations. 



Expedition Expectations 


  • Work with the business stakeholders to develop solutions for communication and content sharing.
  • Champion the intranet cause and keep it current and relevant.
  • Design and build sites and sub sites.
  • Lead planning and implementation sessions.
  • Build forms and workflows to meet business process needs.
  • Provide leadership for governance, strategy, policies and best practices.
  • Implement security controls through site permissions.
  • Participate in content and tenant migration projects.
  • Train and coach content creators and site administrators.
  • Actively seek feedback from both users and key stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Maintain training materials for end users and site administrators.
  • Document design and content administration best practices.
  • Oversee authoring and proper use of online channels for official company news.
  • Monitor user-generated content for appropriateness.
  • Monitor site analytics and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).





Passport to Success

  • Minimum of 5 years of administration experience with SharePoint Online, Teams and PowerPlatform
  • Strong understanding of the content sharing and co-authoring best practices between the Office suite of products and SharePoint.
  • Extensive experience planning and implementing site builds and content creation.
  • Hands on experience planning and performing SharePoint content migrations from a variety of environments such as On-Prem, Teams, file servers, etc.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical & operational concepts and details to individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Experience creating technical documentation
  • Must have a continuous improvement mindset
  • Must be highly motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, and adapt to changes as needed
  • Must possess exceptional attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent certifications and/or experience.
  • Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US

Additional Responsibilities 

To support tasks, the role may also include:

• Light video editing.

• Management and distribution of email lists to ensure effective internal communication.

• Updating and creating content areas on the SharePoint intranet.

• Setting up the technicalities for town halls, including managing technical requirements and ensuring seamless execution.

• Tracking and reporting engagement metrics for the intranet, town halls, and surveys
