JOB TITLE: SENIOR SALES & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER  

DEPARTMENT: SALES  

REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR COMMERCIAL AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT  

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

This is an experience-based position that involves broad commercial and business development capacities, leadership and team spirit. The position includes to identify, manage and conduct investment opportunities while optimizing the existing customer portfolio by providing excellent commercial support and services, and contributes to revenue growth of the company in line with the defined strategy set by the Management.   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  

 Act as a strategic partner to Director Commercial and Business Development Region USA  

 Act as regional leader on new business development projects within and outside Odfjell boundaries

 Provide commercial advice and support to the company

 Assist and manage commercial negotiations with all required stakeholders at different levels  

 Proactively engage other departments to develop commercial solutions  

 Participate in and support key customer team efforts and act as liaison with Tankers Division

 Manage and further develop a defined portfolio of existing customers and pursue business opportunities with new customers

 Work with various customers and other constituents to negotiate and support in resolving any outstanding claims against the company in the US region  

 Acts as liaison with Accounting and other functions as needed as key management representative to track actual results/progress against budget

 Support required internal reporting

 Follow company policies and comply with company regulations. Cooperate and support

colleagues.

OTHER FUNCTIONS   

 In case of absence, the employee’s supervisor will assume and/or assign responsibility for this position’s duties.  

 Perform other job-related duties as assigned.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree or in lieu, 15 + years of industry experience
  • Ten plus years experience in Commercial contracts and business  
  • Operational experience with Bulk Liquid Chemical Terminals at Management Level
  • Directional experience with Terminal investments
  • Commercial experience with Tank Terminals
  • Operational and commercial experience with Parcel Tankers   
  • A commercial track record showing ability to develop markets
  • Good verbal and written communication skills required
  • Good computer skills

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

       Close proximity to hazardous petrochemicals

       Non-smoking, air-conditioned office environment

       Some evening or weekend customer engagements are required        Some travel is required
