East West Tea is seeking a talented, passionate, and experienced Senior Financial Analyst- Operations to join our Finance team in partnering with our North American Operations team to deliver our annual operating plan. 

The Senior Financial Analyst- Operations is responsible in understanding the production operations and flow of inventory, using your analytical and cost accounting expertise to transform the business activity into actionable information. This role will be involved in Integrated Business Planning (IBP) to provide analysis and insight in to forward looking solutions around supply and demand planning. Providing strategic direction and recommendations in identifying and implementing cost savings opportunities.

    This position is located in Eugene, Oregon with a work from home option that provides the opportunity to work outside the office up to two days per week.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN:                                                  

Reporting and Reconciliations                                    50% of time

    Break data into meaningful actionable activities to improve financial and operational performance. 

    Identify workflow inefficiencies and propose solutions to streamline processes necessary to support our rapid growth and cost efficiency. 

    Assess performance trends and propose corrective measures in the case of deterioration related to KPIs and in support of continuous improvement initiatives. 

    Provide effective analysis and understanding of COGS results, budget development, and variance reporting to Operations Leadership team and senior management by developing insightful reporting that helps to understand current financial performance and set the future direction of the organization.

    Prepare, present, and manage the excess and obsolescence report.

    Oversees all cost accounting and financial analysis reporting; monitors all relevant key performance indicators and reviews rate, volume, mix, efficiency, spending, and usage variances.

    Provide guidance and direction in understanding of standard manufacturing variances.

Transactional Processing                                        10% of time

    Responsible for reviewing accuracy and setting up the standard cost for labor overhead and bill of materials, including material usage, material price, routings and time consumed. 

People and Process Management                                    10% of time

    Participate in sharing of best practices, including developing/documenting cost accounting policy and internal controls.

    Educates the organization on best practices and industry standards as a leader in your field.

    Regularly present to the production TEAm accurate and timely financial data and recommendations for corrections or success areas.

    Use every business interaction to educate managers on financial and strategic outcomes of everyday decisions.

    Actively engage in and contribute to plant meetings

Cross-Functional Collaboration                                    30% of time

    Provide a key role in forward looking financial forecasting as a contributor in our IBP (Integrated Business Process) strongly engaged in supply and demand planning.

    Partner effectively with accounting and cross departmentally to develop and implement ongoing cost savings strategies, benchmarking, and incorporating new practices and manufacturing strategies.

    Participate in the annual budget process working with Operations Leadership team and senior management, assisting as needed at various stages of the process.

    Partner with the Operations Leadership team on a regular basis to review and understand raw materials, work in process, finished goods, overhead cost drivers, and production variances.

    Parter with our Italian counterpart to share solutions and identify opportunities for global alignment.

    Partner with our North American Plant Director on a day to day and long-term strategic relationship to materialize the Yogi corporate, team, and individual vision, objectives, and initiatives.

    Provide meaningful insight and recommendations to site director

    Create and deliver informative and action driving presentations based on insightful analytical findings.


WHAT YOU KNOW AND HAVE EXPERIENCED: 

    B.S. or B.A. in Accounting, Finance or equivalent experience [Min. 5 years of related work experience]

•    Advanced degree, CMA, CPA preferred

    5-7 years of progressively complex experience in a corporate finance office and cost accounting, preferably in a consumer products context, and the food and beverage industry
