DescriptionWSP seeking a Senior Hydraulic Engineer - highway drainage design, stormwater management, grading design, utility design, roadway design plans, preparation of Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Plans, NJDEP Land Use Permitting, and preparation of contract documents. This position will be located in our Morristown, NJ location and work with our Transportation Team. Other locations that will be considered include Lawrenceville, NJ or Newark, NJ.
Responsibilities:
- Anticipated responsibilities include providing technical support in hydrology and hydraulics engineering, preparing permit applications in flood hazard area, storm water, and Sediment Erosion and Sediment Control, utility and roadway design for transportation projects.
- Anticipated responsibilities also include the following: conducting technical studies (field work may be required), performing surface and sub-surface hydraulic and hydrologic calculations, scour analysis, preparing permit documents, preparing engineering design plans, specifications, and cost estimates, and writing technical documents and proposals.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have the following:
- BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited University.
- Minimum 4 years experience in stormwater management, drainage design, stream hydrology and hydraulics, roadway design plans, grading, Flood Permits, Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plans, and/or NPDES permits preparation.
- Must have EIT certification.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Characteristic and skills:
- Has Professional Engineers license or will be taking the next available Professional Engineers Exam.
- Experience in transportation projects.
- Competence in ESRI ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D/LDD and/or MicroStation V8i/InRoads, and be familiar with grading and earthwork concepts.
- Familiarity with surface water hydrologic and hydraulic analyses software including HEC-1, HEC-2, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, Pond Pack, WMS and/or EPA SWMM, and HEC-HMS.
- Familiarity drainage design software such as StormCAD, WaterCAD, or AutoDesk or Bentley Storm and Sanitary.
- Experience using Bentley Open Roads and/or Autodesk Civil 3D
