Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing complex accounting functions, supporting month-end and year-end processes, and ensuring financial accuracy. This role entails leading financial analysis, managing compliance, and working with other departments to optimize financial processes. The Senior Accountant will serve as a key liaison to auditors and assist the Director of Accounting & Finance in the development of financial reporting strategies.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepare and review month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciling accounts and preparing journal entries.
  • Oversee the reconciliation and maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Lead financial analysis by preparing and presenting management information reports.
  • Manage fixed asset reporting, depreciation, and inventory processes for the Puerto Rico and U.S. locations.
  • Coordinate and review payroll, including auditing timecards and processing payroll adjustments.
  • Complete and review tax filings, including local, state, and federal filings (e.g., SURI, 480 tax forms).
  • Perform intercompany balance reconciliations, allocations, and adjustments as needed.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and coordinate audits by external auditors.
  • Provide analysis on operating expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and internal control standards.
  • Support Director of Accounting & Finance in any other financial activity

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification required.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Strong experience in preparing financial statements and managing complex reconciliations.
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP and tax compliance standards.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) 
  • Ability to work independently and lead a small team of accounting professionals.
