POSITION SUMMARY:

The Risk Manager (RM) will be responsible to manage the organization-wide risk management and patient safety programs in order to improve patient care and outcomes, reduce risk and provide guidance to clinical staff. The RM will develop and maintain systems within WCCHC to detect, monitor, prevent, organize, measure, investigate, report and manage patient adverse events, malpractice claims, incident reports and other indicators of potential patient harm and employee safety.

The RM will work closely with the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Nursing Officer, collaborate with senior leadership, department heads, and clinical staff to educate on standards, monitor and report on programs, review policies and procedures, develop and implement systems/processes to improve health outcomes, services and compliance.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

1.  An Associate’s Degree in the health care field required

2.  Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in the health care field preferred.

3.  A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in Healthcare risk management, compliance and/or patient safety preferred

4.  Certification in Health Care Risk Management (CPHRM) and is required, if not certified upon hire this will need to be obtained by the end of the first year of employment

5.  Certification in Root Cause Analysis is preferred

6.  A valid Driver’s License and daily access to an automobile required
