Purpose






The Regional Jr. Accountant is a backstone of the organization, ensuring payments are made, supporting documents are collected and accounts are reconciled. This position requires a strong understanding of bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, payments processing, and filing management. 

 

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the assigned region banks are reconciled, payments are processed, and reports are submitted in due time 

 

The Regional Jr. Accountant is responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping function of the assigned Regional Office. The incumbent reports to the Transactional Lead Accountant and collaborates closely with Program Accountant and Program staff 









Responsibilities






  • Process clients checks and reconcile clients’ account. 
  • Monitor clients’ budget and issue checks per the client payment schedules.  
  • Coordinate clients’ payments with the Case Manager. 
  • Prepare checks for signature. 
  • Manage accurate data entry of invoices into accounting system (SM ERP). 
  • Manage and monitor petty cash to ensure clients’ needs are meet. 
  • Create Journal entries relating to items processed. 
  • Responsible for the monthly bank and cash reconciliation.  
  • Prepare field office cash projections. 
  • Collaborate closely with the Transactional and Program Accountant on bank reconciliation and payment processing. 
  • Copy and Scan documents and maintain a standard filing system. 








Qualifications






  • College graduate with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, nonprofit management or equivalent work experience with a non-profit organization. 
  • A minimum of 4 years' work experience in nonprofit accounting/finance, administrative, bookkeeping with working knowledge of accounting and finance.   
  • Computer literate, with proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word and Excel) and internet applications.  
  • Organizational and time management skills are required.   
  • Ability to work with and maintain the integrity of confidential financial and payroll information.  
  • Communication skills are essential; strong interpersonal and customer service skills . 
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment .

Special Requirements






  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle. Mileage accrued while executing work responsibilities is reimbursable by CWS.  
  • Must complete motor vehicle record check. 
  • Must be willing and able to travel. 
  • Background check . 
  • Level 2 Fingerprints . 
  • Credit history check .
