Description

Product manager for Desktop KVM, Secure KVM, KVM Trays, KVM switches, etc,, with solid KVM market understanding, proven skills to develop business cases for new products and excellent communication skills to present roadmap to senior management, internal teams and customers.

 

  • Primarily Roles & Responsibilities
    • Act as the product evangelist, constantly identifying opportunities via Voice-of-Customer and internal feedback from our sales team to improve the AV portfolio’s performance in support of our business strategy, including new products, product line extensions, product revisions, product retirements, pricing changes, product positioning changes, and marketing/sales programs.
    • Track and analyze the product portfolio’s performance and profitability versus the targets, inform key stakeholders, and identify actions needed to meet the goals. Create quarterly sales and profitability forecasts for the portfolio.
    • Research, analyze and monitor the market for customer application needs, market trends, competitive threats and growth opportunities.  Develops and manages the execution of a product roadmap.
    • Provide guidance as product owner for Agile development whether internally or with 3rd parties.
    • Create a clear, compelling business case for new product ideas including sales and profitability forecast. Develops product positioning to maximize competitive differentiation and customer value.
    • Develop integrated go to market and introduction plans and schedules. Support needs of marketing, sales, and support including participating in tradeshows, product demonstrations and competitive analysis. 
    • Collaborate with marketing and sales to create marketing messages, product collateral (such as datasheets, white papers, and videos), customer-facing product roadmaps, TCO/ROI tools, etc.
    • Provide product education to various internal and external stakeholders including sales, sales engineering and tech support.
    • Plan, communicate and manage the process to retire products from the portfolio including customer transition plans or offerings.
    • Stays current with technologies and trends, and anticipates demand by building relationships with vendors, industry analysts, and engineering.

 

  • Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
    • Self-motivated and driven with a results-driven attitude, market-oriented approach, and a curious mind.
    • Skilled in the core areas of product management including customer applications and needs analysis, competitive analysis, market analysis, value-based pricing, product strategy, product roadmaps, product definition, product positioning, value propositions, and marketing/sales tools.
    • Possesses solid business acumen to plan, monitor and analyze the product portfolio’s business performance, pricing and profitability, and to proactively decide on actions to meet the targets.
    • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships with multiple stakeholders and foster an environment of interaction, collaboration and commitment.
    • Excellent written, verbal and listening communication with many diverse stakeholders.
    • Skilled with setting priorities in a dynamic environment and staying focused on what matters most

 

  • §  Travel is required, up to 20%, primarily in North America with occasional international

 

  • Education/Experience Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering, computer science or a technical field (or equivalent technical experience.)
    • 5-8 years of product management experience or a combination of MBA degree and product management, marketing, product development or business development experience.
    • Some experience leading, coordinating and/or managing cross-functional teams in planning, developing or implementing information technology products or systems.
