The successful candidate must be based in Vancouver or Toronto. We are currently operating under a hybrid model of work-in-office and work-from home. As both team and client interactions are important in this role, in-office presence, as well as being on-site for client work, will be required.

About the role: 

As an Account Manager specializing in technology, you'll lead multiple accounts and play a crucial role in our growing national team. You'll work with Canada's leading tech companies, scale-ups and startups, helping them gain visibility through coverage in high-impact publications like the Globe and Mail, Wall Street Journal, Tech Crunch and Forbes. A day in the life of a Talk Shop Account Manager: 

  • Develop and execute smart PR strategies that drive client success
  • Lead account management, ensuring we’re wowing our clients with impactful coverage, clear client communication and met deadlines 
  • Manage and mentor a team of Account Associates
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships, leading all client communications from calls to daily emails 
  • Proactively identify new opportunities to better serve clients 
  • Write impactful media pitches and content 
  • Come up with bright ideas and solutions - if your pitch hasn’t landed, you’ll lead discussions with your wider account team about what else we can try 
  • Support Business Directors with business development as needed
  • Mentor and manage a team of associates, supporting them with prioritization and meeting clients KPIs
  • Participate in Talk Shop culture events and touchpoints - we work hard, but make time for each other 


What you’ll bring: 

  • 4-5 years of tech PR experience, either at an agency or a tech company, including 
  • Passion and interest in the tech industry - you are up to date on the latest AI, Cloud Computing and Cyber Security trends 
  • Confidence leading client communications - you are a clear communicator and enjoy building relationships with your clients 
  • Proven track record in securing high-profile media coverage
  • Exceptional creativity and storytelling abilities
  • Excellent writing 
  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with a passion for mentoring others
  • Extreme attention to detail – you take pride in the  high-quality, client-ready work you produce 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to contribute to a high performing team environment

Total Rewards:

We offer a salary in a range between $70-90K annually, and will be based on relevant experience.  In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and wellness programs. 


After 3 months of employment, the individual will be entitled to Talk Shop’s benefits program, which includes:
