Payment Services Compliance Specialist (Compliance Specialist)
The pay range for this position is listed below. Our pay ranges are built to allow for candidates with various levels of skill and experience to be considered, as well as for room for growth and tenure achieved in a role over time. Typical new hire salary offers fall within the minimum to midpoint of a pay range for many candidates. Any offer extended to a candidate will be based upon their unique set of knowledge, skills, education, and experience as well as internal equity.

What You’ll Be Doing
Assists department with guidance and implementation of regulatory and operational changes through personnel training, form changes, and creation and revision of standard operating procedures. Collects, interprets, and disseminates regulatory information to credit union management.
- Monitors and interprets regulatory and policy changes affecting the business unit and evaluates the potential impact those requirements may have. Makes recommendations for appropriate actions necessary to maintain compliance.
- Ensures compliance with policies, procedures and applicable laws and regulations. Communicates such information to affected management personnel and ensures that corrective action is taken for identified compliance issues.
- Reviews credit union forms, disclosures, and letters for compliance with regulations.
- Investigates and resolves compliance issues or questions received from credit union management, team members, and government agencies. Acts as a resource for questions regarding regulatory issues.
- Recommends and reviews training programs to increase team member awareness and knowledge of applicable compliance policies. Update and disseminate information regarding laws and regulations.
- Performs operational and compliance audits within the business unit, in conjunction with the internal auditor. Track and report on issues and recommendations.
- Assess risk potential of current procedures and institute new procedures that minimize loss exposure.

- Complies with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements including but not limited to BSA regulations corresponding to their specific job duties. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary and other employment related actions
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience preferred
- 3-5 years of compliance and technical writing experience required
- Must have basic knowledge of state and federal laws, rules and regulations set forth by the NCUA (National Credit Union Administration) and CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) specific to credit union operations required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
- Previous experience with credit union and/or financial institution preferred
- CUNA’s Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) or NAFCU’s Certified Compliance Officer (NCCO) designation(s) preferred
