Employment Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday (some weekend shifts as needed based on project requirements)




Overview
The Estimator plays a critical role in the success of our construction projects by overseeing the estimating process and ensuring accurate and competitive bids, as well as the completion of projects. Duties
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for presentation to clients.
- Utilize software tools such as Planswift and Jobber to create precise estimates.
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to determine project requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure accurate pricing.
- Conduct thorough reviews of estimates before submission to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with project management teams to align estimates with project goals and timelines.
- Negotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors to secure favorable terms for the company.
- Monitor market trends and adjust estimating practices accordingly to maintain competitiveness.
- Networking with prospetive new clients at industry events.


- Hunting down new prospective clients via cold calling.




Skills
- Proficiency in construction estimating software, particularly Planswift & Jobber.
- Strong understanding of project management principles as they relate to estimating processes.
- Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing strategies.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills for accurate cost assessment.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also managing individual responsibilities.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction across various stakeholders.
