Assured Environmental is in search of an experienced Operations Manager to head up their Sydney office.

This role will report directly to the Managing Director and be a part of the Senior Leadership Team.

About the role

We are seeking a suitable candidate to fill the Operations Manager role in our company. The key elements of the role include:


  • Providing timely and exceptional project deliverables on air quality, odour, noise and lighting projects.

  • Working to strict schedules whilst maintaining product quality.

  • Writing of technical reports and quotes in a timely manner in accordance with client expectations.

  • Leveraging and developing relationships to build long-term business partnerships

  • Maintaining a healthy relationship with regulatory personnel and relevant stakeholders.

  • Recruitment and supervision of all staff in the Sydney office. Complete project management, starting with project planning, to onsite, laboratory to report writing, oversee and support staff in a positive and quality focused manner.

  • Schedule staff members to be trained via individually tailored performance plans according to corporate strategy.

  • Review and approve technically accurate and professionally presented scientific reports.

  • Ensure adherence and promote participation in quality and safety standards

  • Be responsible for meeting team budgets and managing staff utilisation

  • Report and support the Managing Director by participation in annual business planning, targets, and budgets allocation.

  • Identify and support business development opportunities.


Skills, experience and qualifications

This role is suited to someone with more than ten years’ experience with the following skills:


  • Appropriate professional accreditation in air quality (e.g. CAQP, QSTI or MCERT) or noise (MAAS).

  • Post-secondary university education in environmental science or environmental management.

  • Previous management experience of running an office or teams of people.

  • Sound understanding and knowledge of atmospheric physics and chemistry would be

  • Experience in source emissions monitoring, technical report writing and overall project management

  • Experience in air quality dispersion and noise modelling will be considered to be a plus.
