As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Townsville Branch, ensuring the efficient management of our parts and service departments. Your role will involve optimising operational performance, improving customer satisfaction, and ensuring seamless coordination between parts, service, and sales. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy machinery operations, organisational and planning skills and have the ability to prioritise workload effectively. As part of a small team, you will be on the tools as needed.

More specifically your key responsibilities will include the following:

• Manage daily operations of the Parts and Service Departments

• Supervise and prioritise the scheduling of pre-delivery, retail, and warranty work

• Measure and monitor Branch performance against KPIs and other performance indicators, identifying areas for improvement.

• Implement strategies to improve customer service standards and maintain strong customer relationships.

• Oversee the Parts Manager to implement effective inventory control and ordering internally and from 3rd parties

• Lead, mentor, and develop staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

• Conduct QA checks and sign off on completed work

• Maintaining a focus on safety standards and protocols to ensure we are keeping our people safe.

• Undertake Workshop Technician duties when required

• Monitor financial performance and implement cost-control measures.

In determining suitability for the role, the following criteria are considered essential:

• Qualified in Mechanical Trade Diesel Fitting or equivalent

• Experienced in leading small teams

• High standard of relevant product knowledge.

• Basic knowledge of financial reports and accounting practices.

• Advanced computer literacy (e.g., MS Office suite, Equip).

• Advanced written and verbal communication skills.

• Competent in assessing and mitigating risk.

• Collaborative working approach.

• Capability to transpose corporate strategy into actionable Branch strategy and tactics.
