Essential duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the cold storage & logistics facility, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with all company policies and industry regulations.
  • Manage and lead a team of warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with logistics and distribution teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for cold storage, including temperature control, sanitation, and product handling.
  • Develop and manage operational budgets, including labor, equipment, and maintenance costs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve service quality.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including OSHA and HACCP standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, customer service and logistics, to meet business objectives and customer requirements.
  • Respond to and resolve operational issues, including equipment malfunctions, staffing shortages, and inventory discrepancies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cold storage management, in the food industry.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS) and inventory control processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Understanding of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance standards in a cold storage environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
