Prasad & Company LLP is seeking Junior Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will strive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy being part of a collaborative team.

Prasad & Company LLP thrives on a family-style boutique practice which allow partners, managers, and staff alike to work closely with clients in a full range of services including business advisory, assurance, tax preparation, and estate and business succession planning.

The Junior Staff Accountant will work under the supervision of the senior accountants and assists/provides support for assurance, tax, and audit client projects. The Junior Staff Accountant’s responsibilities include preparing the general entries, ledgers, trial balance, income statements, maintaining balance sheets, cash flow, and fund flow of the organization.

Junior Staff Accountants are recent graduates from accounting programs or individuals who display exceptional technical skills that fit in well with our values and firm culture.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Prepare compilation (Notice to Reader) files.
  • Prepare working papers for review and audit engagements.
  • Prepare personal (T1), trust (T3) and corporate (T2) income tax returns.
  • Prepare T4 (payroll) and T5 (dividend) returns.
  • Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery.
  • Assist intermediate and senior accountants in the preparation and completion of projects for client files.
  • Adhere to the firm’s established accounting processes.
  • Ad-hoc projects that may include some administrative tasks. 

Experience requirements:

  • Pursuing CPA designation.
  • Experience with TaxCycle, CaseWare, and Jazz It is an asset.
  • A self-starter, collaborator, and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in a public accounting firm as a contractor, co-op placement, or part/full time employee is an asset.
