The human resources manager position consists of planning, directing, and coordinating all the organization's human resource management activities to maximize human resource use and maintain functions such as employee compensation, recruitment, policies, and state and federal compliance. As a function supporting a government contractor, the HR Manager will oversee multistate federal contracts and work to extend best practice support to all employees. While the position is based in the Hampton Roads area it will call for presence in the Virginia area on occasion.



Tasks


� Administer compensation, benefits, performance management systems, and safety and programs.


� Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment and recommend changes.


� Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.


� Identify staff vacancies and recruit, interview, and select applicants.


� Lead staffing, manage performance concerns, organizational challenges, terminations, conflict resolution, staff development, and support leadership team in all aspects of talent, company objectives, and goals.


� Oversee the Human Resources function to foster a positive attitude toward organizational objectives; Obtain, review, and analyze employee relations information and data.


� Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, labor and employee relations.


� Plan, organize, direct, manage, or coordinate company training, labor relations activities, and employee engagement activities throughout the organization.


� Represent the organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.


� Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting, and administering contracts, affirmative action, EEO, and governmental staffing initiatives.


� Work closely with the Leadership Team to design and deliver quality support systems to help resolve work-related problems.
