JOB SUMMARY:

Assists the Director of Human Resources in employee relations, hiring, onboarding. Maintains all training records for production employees .


  

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Review resumes, coordinate and conduct interviews, onboard all employees.

• Utilize the HRIS to manage employee information, benefits, leaves, and absences

• Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications

• Participate in departmental and safety meetings

• Assist in fostering positive employee relations by being a visible presence on the production floor

• Assist in planning employee events

• Complete Union Payroll

• Maintain OSHA Log

• Administer all workers compensation related incidents

• Issue union reprimands when necessary

• Maintain physical and digital files for employees and their documents, benefits and attendance records

• Work with the management team to make decisions regarding efficiency and potential impacts on the company

• Maintains confidentiality in all corporate and related company matters 

• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities 

• Complies with all Corporate Policies and Procedures 



Requirements

  

· Good understanding of employment law and basic Human Resource practices. 

· Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred

· SHRM-CP preferred

· 1-3 Years of experience in Human Resources, or related role

· Experience working in a Union Environment

· Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy 

· Excellent organizational and time management skills, requiring little supervision, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) 

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion
