Position Purpose:


The Email Marketing Specialist at GTN is responsible for the planning, execution, and optimization of email marketing strategies across multiple TV shows and platforms. This role involves managing subscriber lists, implementing segmentation and tagging, creating opt-in forms and simple landing pages, automating campaigns to increase engagement and conversions, and deploying promotional email campaigns to support customer acquisition and retention. The ideal candidate has expertise in CRM systems, email automation, and dynamic content, and knows how to manage both one-time and recurring campaigns. They will use data-driven strategies to continuously optimize email performance and foster growth. At the heart of this role is a passion for reaching people with the Gospel through digital communication, ensuring every email and interaction serves to inspire, engage, and bring freedom through Christ.


Essential Duties:



  • Develop and execute email marketing strategies to support GTN’s TV shows and online platforms, focusing on engagement, retention, and conversion. 

  • Manage and deploy promotional email marketing strategies and operations to support customer acquisition and retention efforts.

  • Build and deploy one-time, recurring, triggered, and dynamic content-driven campaigns.

  • Lead the day-to-day execution of email campaigns, including writing content and/or working with in-house copywriters, list segmentation, A/B testing, scheduling, and reporting.

  • Collaborate with strategy and content teams to build and maintain a promotional email calendar, ensuring all initiatives are supported.

  • Ensure email designs are optimized, mobile-friendly, and aligned with best practices for user experience

  • Proofread emails for clarity, grammar, spelling, and consistency with brand standards, tone, and voice.

  • Ensure email security and privacy: Implement best practices for data privacy, secure handling of subscriber information, and compliance with regulations such as GDPR, CAN-SPAM, and CCPA.

  • Create and manage email sequences (nurture series, follow-up sequences) and broadcast campaigns, ensuring alignment with GTN’s marketing goals and audience behavior.

  • Build and manage segmented email lists to enable targeted and personalized messaging.

  • Create opt-in forms and simple landing pages to capture leads and grow GTN’s email subscriber base.

  • Implement automated workflows to maximize retention and revenue.

  • Oversee and optimize email tagging and tracking systems to monitor subscriber behavior and engagement.

  • Maintain email list hygiene by regularly cleaning and updating subscriber lists, removing inactive contacts, and managing bounced emails to improve deliverability and engagement.

  • Monitor email deliverability: Ensure high inbox placement by monitoring bounce rates, spam complaints, and overall sender reputation, making necessary adjustments to improve deliverability.

  • Implement lead scoring within the CRM to prioritize and segment high-quality leads for targeted email campaigns, ensuring the most engaged prospects are nurtured effectively.

  • Utilize email deliverability tools like Litmus or Email on Acid to monitor and optimize inbox placement for high deliverability rates across email clients and devices.

  • Use dynamic content and personalization techniques to tailor messages to individual subscribers, enhancing engagement and relevancy.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define email messaging, offers, and strategies for campaigns.

  • Conduct A/B testing to optimize subject lines, email copy, and CTAs for better engagement and conversions.

  • Actively seek opportunities to experiment with new strategies and optimize performance for better results.

  • Organize, plan, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, implementing process improvements where needed.

  • Create and implement strategies for list growth, increased engagement, and higher ROI.

  • Compile and report email metrics regularly to track progress against team and organizational goals.

  • Stay up to date with email marketing trends, tools, and best practices.

  • Other related tasks as assigned.


Qualifications


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:





  • Deep understanding of email marketing principles, including list management, segmentation, automation, and personalization strategies.

  • Expertise in managing email CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign) and automation tools to create efficient workflows.

  • Proficiency in building and optimizing email sequences and broadcast campaigns, with a solid understanding of dynamic content and personalization techniques.

  • Strong skills in developing opt-in forms and landing pages for lead generation, using tools like Unbounce, Leadpages, or similar.

  • Experience with tools like Litmus, Email on Acid, or similar for testing and optimizing emails across different email clients and devices.

  • Ability to design and optimize customer journeys through email workflows and automation that align with the broader marketing funnel.

  • Implementing lead scoring systems within the CRM and designing email workflows that prioritize high-quality leads.

  • Familiarity with integration tools like Zapier or native CRM integrations to connect email marketing platforms with other marketing and sales systems.

  • Using advanced analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, for in-depth performance tracking and attribution modeling to better understand the impact of email marketing on conversions.

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PPT, Microsoft programs, Monday.com, and quick learner of new technology to improve workflow.

  • Analytical mindset with experience in tracking and measuring email performance metrics, making data-driven improvements.

  • Familiarity with A/B testing, subject line optimization, and testing email content for improved engagement.

  • Strong project management skills to handle multiple campaigns across different shows simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.

  • Knowledge of legal and compliance standards, including GDPR and CAN-SPAM.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight, demonstrating initiative and resourcefulness.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to implement process improvements and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills


Requirements:




  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • Must sign the Statement of Faith.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent education is required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred.

  • Charis Bible College student or graduate is preferred.

  • Must pass all required checks


Experience:



  • Proficiency in email marketing platforms, CRM systems, and email automation tools.

  • Proven track record of managing successful email campaigns that drive engagement and conversions.

  • 3+ years of experience in email marketing and CRM management, particularly in a fast-paced environment.

  • Compensation is commensurate with experience.
