General Information:


The Finance Office is seeking a skilled and analytical Finance Business Analyst to join the accounting technology department.
The primary role of this position is to perform detailed analysis of financial data, maintain the integrity of financial applications, and support key operational processes for the Finance/Budget Office. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive functional support, contribute to the testing and implementation of finance applications, and play a vital role in process documentation and system improvements.


 


Duties and Responsibilities:



  • System Support: Provide functional support for our ERP and other finance applications, including troubleshooting issues, resolving user queries, and documenting processes.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Develop and maintain reports and queries to support decision-making and reporting requirements.

  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement process enhancements and automation opportunities.

  • Project Management: Play a vital role in system implementation and upgrade projects, including testing, data migration, and user training.Serve as the functional analyst for all applications which are supported by the Finance/Budget Office, and interface/interact with other University and State applications.


 


Qualifications:


Required:



  • Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel functionalities

  • Hands-on experience with report writing and data manipulation

  • Experience of desktop environments, including but not limited to Windows/Mac OS, FTP software, Microsoft Office suite

  • Knowledge of functional business processes and their relationship with technical initiatives

  • Experience working with end users' requests and translating them into technical requirements

  • Knowledge of relational databases and security principles related to complex computing environments

  • Project management knowledge

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Knowledge of Finance, Business Administration, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field


Additional Considerations:



  • Experience with Microsoft Access

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, Workday)

  • Knowledge of accounting concepts (including budget development), principals, software applications

  • Experience with data visualization tools(e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
