SUMMARY: 

The Deputy Operations Manager will assist in overseeing the daily operations of our aerospace manufacturing facility, ensuring that production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This role involves collaborating with various departments, managing teams, and optimizing manufacturing processes to meet production goals while adhering to quality standards and regulatory requirements. Reports to the Operations Manager.

WHAT YOU WILL DO 

  • Assist the Operations Manager in planning, coordinating, and monitoring production activities to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Implement and maintain efficient manufacturing processes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Creates a culture of continuous improvement
  • Analyze production metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at reducing waste, enhancing efficiency, and increasing overall productivity and follow up on implementation to ensure effectivity.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to resolve any product quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Supervise and mentor production staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, and accountability
  • Assists in developing and managing operational budgets
  • Coordinate with engineering and design teams to ensure manufacturability of new products
  • Coordinate with Integrated Product Teams and communicate capacity and capability

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in operations management or a similar role within the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and regulatory requirements in aerospace.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and manufacturing software.
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Project Management (preferred)
