Position Summary
Manage the loan portfolio by servicing requests for direct and participation loans, and helping to resolve delinquency and problem loans. Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations (e.g., NCUA and DBO), and MCU loan policies, guidelines, and procedures. Maintain quality control for loan operations of direct business loans and participations purchased or sold, ensuring proper controls are in place. Preserve the integrity of business loan portfolio data for accurate reporting. Recommend workflow improvements for operations processing and servicing to support smooth operations. Collaborate with the manager to recommend necessary next steps. Provide support to Business Banking on various projects and initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the processing, documentation, and closing of commercial loans, ensuring all paperwork is accurate and complete and other servicing aspects of the loan portfolio. Review completed and properly signed loan documents are consistent will proper approvals and loans have been properly booked.
- Manage the various system specifications and requirements relating to business lending, for compliance and proper functioning. Work with accounting to ensure proper loan accounting and loan data management. Monitor changes and enhancements, making data reporting changes as appropriate. Assist the manager with information and reports requested by regulators, examiners, and auditors, as needed.
- Reviews approved credit memos and related documentation for accuracy and compliance prior to customer signing and boarding. Completes post funding reviews for accuracy and completeness with approved terms and conditions and boarding on operating system. Reviews loan covenants and conditions of approval. Ensures loan documentation meets standard requirements.
- Demonstrate active problem loan prevention and recognition by taking appropriate and timely action as needed. This is evidenced by a clear understating of all rules, regulations, federal and state laws, loan policies, guidance, and procedures to ensure compliance and safety and soundness.
- Insure proper recordkeeping of general ledger accounts and budget line items. Oversee accuracy of information on Business Banking website and links.
- Review and recommend enhancements and improvements operational policies, procedures, best practices and guidelines.
Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Minimum Qualifications
- Five years to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
- A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school equivalent to approximately 64 credit hours.
- A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.
- Extensive knowledge of commercial and real estate lending practices and procedures. Must have experience analyzing business financial statements and assessing the viability of businesses; must have excellent communication and PR skills & the ability to work with a diverse group of customers and staff. Working knowledge of Microsoft products is necessary.

The Commercial Loan Servicing/Operations Manager position is a grade 12.
- Target Range: $95,186.12 to $118,982.65*
*The target range for entry in a new position is between the minimum and midpoint of the range, depending on experience and qualifications.
