Job Summary

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving growth by developing and managing accounts within the assigned territory. This role involves executing WorkSmart's sales process, identifying strategic opportunities, and positioning the company as a leader in the market. Success in this role requires an in-depth understanding of the competitive landscape, product knowledge, and effective utilization of tools and resources.


Key Responsibilities

1. Account Development and Management (30%)

  • Develop and manage accounts through WorkSmart's sales process.
  • Process RFQs with the Project Coordinator and follow up through calls and emails.
  • Maintain and update the opportunity database with status changes.
  • Identify and target new dealer accounts.
  • Cultivate relationships with key accounts and set up dealer meetings.
  • Plan and execute sales appointments and presentations.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline.

2. Competitive Landscape Analysis (25%)

  • Understand competitors and their geographical presence.
  • Analyze WorkSmart's competitive advantages and challenges.
  • Assess market value for the companyโ€™s products and services.
  • Leverage the value of WorkSmart's solutions to position effectively against competitors.

3. Solution Selling (15%)

  • Recommend suitable solutions to meet end-user application needs.
  • Become an expert in WorkSmartโ€™s product capabilities and distribution center operations.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for dynamic storage solutions.

4. Strategic Planning and Resource Utilization (15%)

  • Optimize travel schedules to maximize meetings and minimize expenses.
  • Conduct sales trips independently, requesting senior leadership support when necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively across departments for seamless communication.

5. Proficiency in Tools and Reporting (10%)

  • Master the ERP system and reporting tools for data analysis.
  • Maintain opportunity status updates for accountability and informed decision-making.

6. Other Duties (5%)

  • Complete additional tasks as assigned to support business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in sales processes and tools (e.g., ERP systems).
  • Knowledge of competitive analysis and solution selling.
  • Experience in account development and management.
