About the role – Permanent, full-time, based in Adelaide or Melbourne.

We are seeking an energetic and people-centric Business Development Manager (BDM) to join us at People First Bank. With us, you will drive our ambition to be the premier lender of choice for all Australians. In this dynamic role, you will ensure that all our brokers, as well as the members they introduce, receive comprehensive support to provide the best experience regardless of geographic location. You will be responsible for establishing, building, and growing a network of mortgage brokers to drive home lending growth in alignment with our corporate strategic objectives, and to ensure we are a preferred and respected lender in the broker industry.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Drive performance and embed behaviours in line with Broker Strategy objectives.

  • Implement best practice broker relationship management strategies that promote strong advocacy and usage of People First Bank for home loans.

  • Establish and deliver a programme to build effective broker networks including attending and hosting events.

  • Achieve all key performance metrics for brokers across agreed financial, risk and member targets.

  • Provide leadership, guidance, coaching and support to the broker lending team.

About you:

You are charismatic in nature, with the innate ability to build and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally, whist engaging with and supporting the team around you. You are adept at problem-solving and unafraid to ask questions, embracing new ways of working with enthusiasm and energy. To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record in business development or relationship management within the banking or financial services industry, exhibit outstanding communication skills, and excel in managing complex sales processes. A background in credit, especially in home lending, is essential for success in this position.

Why you’ll love working with us:
