Job Description

The individual in this role will provide accounting support to the General Accounting Managerand Financedepartment. The person must be willing to perform data entry/analysis in financeas support/backup. The Accountant will be part of the Finance team. 

  • Completion and entry of journal entries. 
  • Assist/perform closing activities.  
  • Financial Analysis support.  
  • Account reconciliations.  
  • Bank reconciliations.  
  • Ensure plant fixed assets and related depreciation is appropriately accounted for,including review and reporting of capital expenditure requests and spend tracking.  
  • Update and maintain Physical Inventory of Fixed Assets.  
  • Backup support for accounts payable and accounts receivable departments.  
  • Assist cost accountant with research/analysis.  
  • Other special projects and analysis as assigned by manager

Qualifications

Key/Core Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance 
  • 3 years of manufacturing/aerospace experience ERP experience / Syspro experience preferred  
  • Proficient in Microsoft products especially Excel  
  • Shows strong knowledge of financial terms, concepts and requirements  
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment  
  • Detail oriented, with strong work ethic   

Preferred Qualifications: 

KNOWLEDGE Full use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. 

JOB COMPLEXITY Works on problems of moderate scope and complexity, where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. 

DISCRETION/ATTITUDE Works under general supervision. Follows established procedures. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment, and overall adequacy and accuracy.
