The Electronics Materials business of BASF offers process chemicals and customized formulated solutions for the semiconductor and display industry, as well as specialized metal systems for consumer electronics and industrial applications. Objectives of the position:
The Electronics Materials (EDM) North America Supply Chain Planning Specialist is a critical planning role that entails conducting demand analysis & verification with relevant stakeholders e.g. key account managers, sales team members, third party logistics partners, and accordingly plan inventory levels and aligned safety stock levels. The position also involves scheduling incoming finished goods and coordinating export schedules to meet customer requirements & needs, while driving effective collaboration between supply locations and demand points. The specialist is also required to be familiar or learn hands-on usage of the relevant planning IT tools such as SAP R/3, SAP APO, OMP, Power BI, Power Automate tools.
Main Tasks and Formula for Success:
Inventory planning and control
Design and apply inventory control procedures, including monitoring / reporting inventories in transit, buffer stocks and inventories in local warehouses or consignment stock in customers’ warehouse. Tracking availability and reliability of supply to maintain optimum stock to fulfill business needs at the necessary minimum costs. Co-ordinate and plan with logistics / transportation personnel or partners for receiving materials and also coordinate export schedules to ensure customer satisfaction.
Demand Planning
Develop and implement monitoring system to support customer service team to upload monthly forecast into BASF Planning tool e.g. OMP FCT.
Non-trade business and lab support
Co-work with lab employees to support their ad-hoc requirements of materials or packaging materials from Taiwan or Europe.
Material master data maintain
Periodic review on SAP master data review and support timely new article creation / extension into SAP system.
Key Account Management
Work closely with Key Account customers’ buyers to understand forecast and any ad-hoc requirement for new fab or change requests.
Flexibility as backup lead for Customer Support activities
Understand Customer Support processes and be a backup of Customer Support Lead, wherever required.
