Staff Accountant - Marietta, GA

The Staff Accountant shall report directly to the Accounting Manager and is tasked with aiding the management of the Company’s General Ledger accounting operations. This role encompasses detailed involvement in both the preparation and the substantiation of accounting entries, and account reconciliations. The incumbent will play an instrumental role in the maintenance and enhancement of the Company’s accounting procedures. Additionally, the Staff Accountant will contribute to various ad hoc finance projects that may emerge intermittently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the Company’s month-end accounting close procedure by preparing journal entries and accumulating supportive documentation.
  • Execute account reconciliations for general ledger accounts within designated process areas.
  • Participate in the deployment of the Company’s new Enterprise Resource Planning system, contributing insights specific to the areas under the Staff Accountant’s jurisdiction.
  • Provide necessary assistance to external auditors upon request.
  • Engage in research related to evolving GAAP standards and other pertinent technical accounting issues as required.
  • Design and implement proprietary, innovative, and automated solutions to enhance or replace existing manual processes.
  • Collaborate with various departments to support ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following educational background and professional experience:

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • 0-2 years of professional experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel.

Candidates who exhibit the following characteristics will be given preferential consideration:

  • CPA License or eligibility to obtain a CPA License.
  • More than one year of pertinent experience, preferably within the Big 4.
