Job Description
Habitat for Humanity New York City and Westchester County is looking for an experienced and professional Staff Accountant.
Responsibilities:
Process accounts payables (vendor management and payments) and update weekly cash flow management for both internal and additional affiliate
Process donations from various sources in tandem with development team for both internal and additional affiliate
Process accounts receivables and pledges
Record business credit card transactions
Perform administrative tasks such as office mail, depositing checks, e-file storage
Assist in financial transaction pertaining to grants and restricted funding
Assist in maintain general ledger to ensure accuracy of transactions
Collaborate closely with staff across various departments on ad-hoc items and requests
Assist in year-end closings and ad hoc reporting
Assist in year-end audits and other reporting requirements, as needed
Perform all other duties assigned by the Controller
Qualifications:
Bachelors in accounting
1-3 years non-profit account experience
Strong Microsoft Office skills (specifically Excel)
Knowledge of Blackbaud Financial Edge preferred
Experience with real estate and construction transactions preferred but not required
Skills Required:
Detail oriented and proven organization and planning skills
Ability to provide satisfactory customer service to clients, vendors, and staff
Multitasker and ability to manage deadlines
Problem identification and analysis
Salary Range: $55,000 – $60,000 per annum, with benefits
