Description

HFI Management (“HFIM”) is currently seeking a Staff Accountant based in Idaho Falls, Idaho.  This role will assist in preparing financial reports, completes journal entries, budgets, financial analysis, and cost reporting.


 


HFIM is the administrative and sales support division of the Brad Hall family of companies.  HFIM supports companies in fuel and lube distribution, propane sales, retail fuel stations, oil field services farming, fuel transportation and other industries.  The family of Companies does business in the Western United States and supplies to over 30 states. 


The Staff Accountant will primarily be focused on:



  • Assists in preparing and reviewing financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annually).

  • Ensures information is complete and accurate for month-end close to meet Company established deadlines and standards.

  • Prepares and completes general ledger entries.

  • Assists in tax preparation and in completion of tax returns.

  • Supports the daily activities of A/P, A/R, and payroll as needed. 

  • Analyze and report on operating costs and make improvement recommendations.

  • Completes the inventory management and controls processes for the Company.

  • Completes sales tax, fuel tax, and property tax payments.

  • Assist with internal and external financial audit processes and ensure that financial controls and policies are followed.

  • Assist with forecasting and planning processes as needed.

  • Assist in development and tracking or budgets.

  • Complete gross profit and overhead analysis.

  • Review and reconcile payroll each pay period.

  • Complete inter-company accounting transactions.

Qualifications

The preferred candidate for the Staff Accountant will have the following:



  • One or more years experience Accounting, Finance or a related field.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

  • Excellent leadership skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong computer skills and able to learn company systems and processes.

  • Adheres to the company’s values and ethical expectations

  • Able to effectively multitask.

  • Strong understanding of reporting and financial systems.

  • Strong understanding of excel.
