Responsibilities






Peraton is hiring a Senior Windows System Administrator to manage and administer Windows resources and infrastructure on a dedicated network within a production environment. This is a hands-on System Administrator role developing and deploying repeatable processes, tools, and infrastructure to enable delivery of capabilities in a production environment. As part of our classified Windows-based Operational Support Network team you will support an exciting program in an Agile construct to contribute to mission success for a variety of stakeholders. Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to diagnose system issues, offer technical guidance, and resolve problems efficiently
  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements to production systems, utilizing technical expertise to address complex issues and drive continuous improvement while maintaining system security authorization
  • Analyze existing system architecture and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop requirements to improve reliability, availability, system monitoring, and automation of routine tasks
  • Install, upgrade, and execute system sustainment tasks related to Windows enterprise, using advanced tools like Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to streamline software deployment and ensure system reliability
  • Conduct thorough analysis and mitigation of findings from vulnerability and compliance scans
  • Lead implementation of security measures and policies by applying Global Policy Objects (GPO), ensuring adherence to security protocols and regulatory requirements
  • Implement IT Service Management (ITSM) fundamentals using industry best practices to optimize service delivery and enhance operational efficiency
  • Mentor mid-level and junior System Administrators while efficiently managing tasks with minimal supervision
  • Travel opportunity, up to 10% of time in support of site surveys, hardware installation and maintenance support.
  • Adhere to weekly schedule during core business hours of 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with the expectation that most work hours are performed within this timeframe








Qualifications






Required Qualifications:

  • Associates degree and 10+ years of experience in a related field; or bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience in a related field; or a master’s degree and 6+ years of experience in a related field. Four (4) years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • This position requires the candidate possess a minimum of Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI. The candidate must maintain the clearance.
  • Compliance with DoD 8140 is required for an Advanced System Administrator
  • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) or equivalent certification required
  • Experience designing and implementing Active Directory deployments, migrations, and upgrades
  • Advanced technical knowledge to collaborate with support and engineering teams in managing Windows-based cloud, on-premises, and lab environments ensuring peak system performance
  • Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to create and deploy intricate software packages and updates, streamlining the deployment process and ensuring system reliability.
  • Knowledge securely integrating Microsoft Services within enterprise
  • Experience validating health and status, operations, and maintenance of Microsoft services within enterprise
  • Extensive experience in secure system sustainment, monitoring, backup, recovery, and testing updates for Windows enterprise
  • Strong, firsthand technical expertise in various configurations, deployment, and continuous integration technologies and the proven ability to fashion robust solutions to keep pace with new development and end users
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring junior – mid-level Systems Administrators

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Atlassian Data Center products (I.e. Jira Service Management, Jira Software, and Confluence)
  • Experience using MS Key Management Services (KMS), Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (I.e. Call Manager, IM & Presence services), Cisco Telepresence, Cisco Prime Collaboration, Cisco Unity Connection (Jabber), and Unified Contact Center Express
  • Experience installing and administering database software products such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience or knowledge of Sentris, or other similar attribute-based security classification services, deployments in an enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge with deploying host instances in Red Hat OpenStack Platform, or equivalent cloud-based application
  • Knowledge with Red Hat Identity Management, or other equivalent identify management applications
  • ITIL 4 Practice Manager or ITIL 4 Managing Professional certification
  • Experience in a fast-paced SAFe Agile Scrum team environment
  • Embody a passion for continuous improvement and innovation
