The NRP Group is currently seeking a Senior Management Accountant to join our team in Cleveland!

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director of Management Accounting, the Senior Management Accountant focuses on forecasting, accounting, and reporting for a portfolio of affordable and/or market rate multi-family properties.

Location: This will be a hybrid role with flexibility to work from our Cleveland corporate office and remotely.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the portfolio’s financial reporting lifecycle including reviewing budgets, forecasts, distributions, and variance analysis.

  • Communicate with various departments including Corporate Accounting, Development Accounting, Property Management, Legal, Asset Management, Tax, Operations, and Third-Party stakeholders on matters related to the portfolio.

  • Assist managers with certain overarching department tasks including valuations of the property portfolio, cash analysis, and fee-based forecasts.

  • Apply US GAAP and audit methodology to review property financial statements and respond to external auditor and other stakeholders’ questions related to the statements.

  • In conjunction with the legal department, review and interpret various documents that govern the properties operations including organizational structure, partnership, management, loan, and distribution agreements.

  • Assist in training and mentoring staff accountants.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA/MBA preferred.

Experience: 3-5+ years of relevant experience preferably in public accounting, including some supervisory responsibilities.

Technical Skills: Proficient in Excel; knowledge of Yardi software a plus.
