At Medtronic, the National Sales Manager, Visualase manages the achievement of unit and revenue goals for assigned therapy products for the nation. This role assists the nation in achieving overall assigned therapy product sales and marketing objectives. The Neuromodulation Operating Unit seeks candidates who will meet our customer expectations by striving without reserve for the greatest possible reliability and quality in our products, processes and systems by being accountable, having a voice, and taking action. Performs all duties in compliance with Quality System.
This is a field based role.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Promotes and sells Medtronic's products and services within an assigned geographic area and /or specific customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets.
Responsible for developing, building, and strengthening long-term relationships with stakeholders including physicians, institutions, and other appropriate medical staff.
Responsible for pursuing leads, assessing needs and providing product services to maximize the benefits derived from Medtronic's products and/or services.
Developing and implementing strategies to achieve short and long-term business objectives
Effectively managing the budget and resources to stay in-line with corporate financial goals
Utilizing field visits and individual or group meetings and telephone contacts to:
* Train and develop employees in sales skills, product knowledge, teamwork, time and territory management, competitive knowledge, and career goals pursuits
* Coordinate sales efforts
* Communicating corporate, divisional, national mission, goals and activities
* Directing and motivating personnel to achieve unit and revenue goals
* Providing ongoing feedback/coaching and regularly schedule performance reviews
* Implementing corrective actions when necessary
* Assisting employees with individual development plans (IDPs)
* Applying customer focused quality (CFQ) concepts
* Developing and managing budgets and forecasts
* Ensuring efficient, effective use of inventory and expenses
* Negotiating and resolving price and contract issues (with reps, accounts, regional management and home office personnel)
Coordinating efforts with National Market Development reps and Laser Ablation Surgical Consultants of other product lines to diversify and maximize overall Medtronic teamwork results
Developing ethical, long-term customer relationships and represent Medtronic management to customers
Recruiting and interviewing candidates to maintain a strong personnel "bench," hire top candidates for open positions
Providing feedback of marketing intelligence to sales and marketing Management
Conducts and/or evaluates market research including customers and competitors activities.
Develops and/or implements market development plans/strategies and changes as needed.
Assesses customer needs and feedback regarding new products and/or modifications to existing products.
Works closely with MDT cross-functional groups to include sales, marketing, medical education, and physician liaison to develop meaningful programs across Medtronic Neuromodulation therapies.

To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident on your resume.
Bachelor’s Degree and 7 years of medical sales experience; or
Advanced Degree and 5 years of medical sales and leadership experience
Successful medical sales record, preferably with Medtronic Neuromodulation products
Experience with sales and personnel management functions
Knowledge of Medtronic Neuromodulation assigned product/therapy customer base
Additional experience in marketing, training, technical services or related areas
Preference will be given to local qualified candidates and candidates with Medtronic experience
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be independently mobile
The employee is also required to interact with a computer for extended periods of time, and communicate with peers and co-workers
Required to do computer based work for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift 20 pounds
Must be able to hear, see and speak fluently
Must be able to travel extensively by car and plane
Must be able to sit, stand 8 hours/day
Must be able to wear lead apron for long periods of time (2-3hrs on average)
Must be able to operate a moving vehicle
Must be able to work in OR and/or Hospital Labs with radiation exposure
Must be able to conduct company business outside of the typical Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, work-schedule
**Must have a valid drivers license and active vehicle insurance policy. In addition, your driving record will be reviewed and will be considered as part of your application. Must be able to travel 50% of the time and may require overnight travel.
