JOB SUMMARY
The Sales Development Specialist will be responsible for providing critical support to the sales team by managing sales data, optimizing sales processes, generating actionable reports, and assisting in sales forecasting. This individual will also play a key role in prospect outreach, proposal creation, and sales presentations, helping the sales team build and strengthen client relationships. Acting as a key link between sales, marketing, and other departments, the Sales Development Specialist will ensure seamless communication and collaboration to streamline workflows and drive team productivity. Additionally, this role will support relationship management efforts by maintaining regular communication with clients, addressing their needs, and ensuring a high-quality experience throughout the sales process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Operations & CRM Management
  • Maintain and update Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (e.g., ZOHO) to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Proactively manage and generate regular reports on sales activities, pipeline progress, and other key metrics to support informed decision-making.
Prospect Outreach & Relationship Management
  • Perform outreach to prospective clients and brokers via phone, email, and Health Center tours.
  • Schedule and coordinate sales meetings with potential clients and brokers to communicate solutions and address their needs.
  • Actively manage a Broker/Consultant tiered list, developing and executing outreach strategies in collaboration with the sales team.
  • Support relationship management efforts by maintaining regular communication with clients and brokers to ensure high-quality experiences.
RFP & Proposal Coordination
  • Cultivate and manage the RFP and proposal process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, timely responses.
  • Oversee the RFP team and manage third-party RFP partners (e.g., Shortlister, Granite List).
  • Build and execute strategies around proposal creation and alignment with client-specific goals.
Sales Strategy & Planning
  • Assist in the development and refinement of sales processes, systems, and strategies to improve overall efficiency.
  • Analyze sales data, trends, performance metrics, and market share to provide actionable insights that drive results.
  • Support the planning, budgeting, and forecasting efforts of the sales organization to align with business objectives.
  • Build and maintain a prospect list, collaborating with the SVP of Employer Engagement to create sales plans for targeted opportunities.
Collaboration with Marketing
  • Partner with the marketing department to create and execute sales-supportive initiatives, such as email campaigns and marketing collateral.
  • Collaborate on sales messaging, market awareness strategies, and content for conferences or speaking engagements.
Market Awareness & Networking
  • Develop strategies to enhance market awareness through participation in conferences, speaking engagements, and networking events.
  • Attend networking events, conferences, and other social gatherings to promote the company and develop new opportunities.
Administrative & Process Improvement
  • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the sales process, suggesting improvements to enhance workflows and productivity.
  • Manage weekly sales activity and prepare cumulative reports for weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews.
  • Perform other administrative and operational duties as needed to ensure seamless sales operations.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Required:   
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • 3+ years of work experience in a sales role.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills. 
  • Ability to engage with people of all diverse backgrounds and speak in front of large groups.
  • Candidates must understand health benefits and the ability to convey our advanced services to clients.
Preferred:
  • A healthcare background is preferred.
  • Understanding of insurance and employee benefits.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
 This job primarily operates in a corporate office environment and is required to interact with customers for a majority of the day. The physical demands to perform the essentials of this job are: 
  • Effective communication, mobility, ability to operate office equipment and travel.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at their work area for prolonged periods of time.
  • Employee will occasionally be required to lift up to 15 pounds.

POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This role will be expected to work a minimum of 40.00 hours/week as directed. Typical workdays are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. This role is considered an exempt position. Evening and weekend work are infrequent but may occasionally be required as business needs dictate.

TRAVEL
Infrequent, domestic travel may be required and should be expected to be less than 25% of the position’s overall responsibilities.
