The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) commenced operations in 2013 as the national entity responsible for regulating all heavy vehicles with a gross vehicle mass over 4.5 tonnes.

Our Safety & Compliance Officers
Our Safety and Compliance officers are currently located across New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, the ACT, South Australia and Queensland. Due to growth NHVR are now expanding our Queensland team.
Working as part of a large national on-roads operations unit, you are at the frontline in keeping our roads safe by monitoring heavy vehicles, working with industry and applying the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL).
Please note: These positions require flexible availability due to working a rotating roster which includes morning, afternoon, night shifts and weekends. You will be provided fortnightly rosters in advance.

We are offering full time, permanent positions in Cairns, Darra, Gladstone, Ipswich, Mackay, Maryborough, Rockhampton, Toowoomba and Townsville.
About you
As a Safety and Compliance Officer you will have:
Successful candidates will be required to commence by January 2025 and will start a comprehensive training program in February 2025. Over the course of the next six months, candidates will attend training for approximately 11 weeks. Travel away from home and week-long stays may be required to undertake this training.
