The Recruiter plays a key role in attracting qualified individuals and rigorously screen for the best candidate for the current position and future opportunities. Our in-house Recruiter will be responsible for supporting all aspects of recruiting and on-boarding processes for professional AZ drivers and Owner-Operators.
Responsibilities:
Tasks: As a recruiter, you will be responsible for the full cycle recruiting process. This includes sourcing candidates, screening and interview potential candidates. Essential duties also involve maintaining the candidate database and ensuring that all applicants being contacted in a timely manner.
Targets:
- Selection and recruitment of owner-operator
- Conduct interviews with applicants using appropriate templates/ guidelines and ensure all the information/documents are collected and filed.
- Ensure that all applications on the Internet, in person and phone inquiries are processed in a timely matter;
- Perform all activities related to the selection and the recruitment of owner-operators and their drivers including behavioral based interviews, verification of references, DOT etc.
- Make arrangements with the Driver Trainer for road tests activities;
- Ensure that candidate has all documents to plate his truck
- Hiring drivers directly and Agency drivers
- Ensure candidates meet the company's criteria;
- Find, evaluate and submit candidates;
- Perform all activities related to the selection and the recruitment of drivers
- Ensure that each driver has received the appropriate training;
- Making job offer letters:
- Coordinate interviews; Maintain respectful and productive relationship with agencies;
- Schedule road tests for shortlisted candidates while coordinating with related stakeholders
- Coordinate with Recruitment Administrators to ensure pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Test, employment verifications are completed prior to orientation
- Ensure all logistics are coordinated and arranged for orientation and respective stakeholders are informed
3. Recording of data
- Ensure accurate and timely updates of the following:
- Open personnel, maintenance, memo files;
- Enter all Master Files information in the computer;
- Enter all changes in driver and unit status;
- Maintain current certificate of clearances (WSIB / CSST) for Operators;
4. Other responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with training schools;
- Work closely with the operations managers and the garage lead hands to understand the needs of each department.;
- Conduct online researches using online job postings and internal databases;
- Participate in recruitment events: Open Houses, Job Fairs, etc...
- Participate / Organize Corporate events and shows (responsible to promote the Company and all its benefits);
- Participate in meetings between HR and Op's with mandate to create a respectful environment that makes us a productive employer of choice;
- Office environment with frequent interaction with co-workers, administrative staff and drivers.
5. Coordination between Terminals
- Ensure consistency between terminals by following prescribe procedures and utilization of department database as well as regular communication;
Qualification/Skills:
- Working knowledge on social media platforms & MS office suit
- Ability to manage a team while being a team player and great listener
- Critical thinker and ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent telephone etiquette and strong verbal and written communication skills along with
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing requirements
- Professional work ethic and friendly, outgoing, and confident personality
- Ability to apply HR tools such as behavioral based interviewing and scoring systems to make objective recommendations.
- Industry knowledge in order to promote strengths will play a key role in effectively recruiting and retaining drivers and Owner Operators.
