Job Description:  

Reporting to the People and Culture Manager, this is the key person for talent acquisition and coordination throughout the Releasing the Genius (RTG) organization. The Recruiter and Talent Coordinator is the lead responsible for building a strong talent pipeline and successfully integrating an effective connection between the People & Culture department and all other departments. This individual is a connector who sees the possibilities in people and aligns them with the best role. They are proactive with a positive outlook and strive to attract high-quality candidates for current and future demands in the organization.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:  

  • Exceptional relationship building and presentation skills. 
  • Experience in developing partnerships. 
  • Excellent understanding of full-cycle recruitment best practices. 
  • At least three years of experience with full-cycle recruitment, including resume screening, coordination of interviews (both in-person and virtual), preparing and presenting offers of employment, and administering the onboarding process. 
  • Experience with understanding and interpreting recruitment KPIs and formulating strategies for meeting the KPIs. 
  • Solid understanding of Human Resources principles and legislation that affect recruiting in Canada, particularly in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, and Manitoba. 
  • Functioned as a liaison between different teams with several priorities. 
  • Experience with Dayforce Recruitment and Onboarding would be considered an asset. 
  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft Teams and Office 365 inclusive of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Sharepoint. 
  • Experience with recruitment in the education sector is a plus. 

 

Education 

A degree or diploma from a recognized university/college. 

 

Accountabilities 

Recruitment & Selection 

  • Leading the recruitment and selection process for campuses and headquarters, including job posting, reviewing of applicants, initial resume screening, phone screening, scheduling interviews and other related tasks as . 
  • Work closely with Campus Operations and the Training department to thoroughly understand the staffing requirements and ensure recruitment efforts are adapted to immediate and upcoming needs. 
  • Leverage relevant recruitment channels such as LinkedIn, Indeed, community associations/networks and referrals to source active and passive candidates; recruiting both actives roles and building talent pipelines to establish and maintain a networks of high caliber professionals.  
  • Establishing partnership with colleges, universities and industry organizations to take part in job fairs especially the ones focused on the education sector to build recruitment relationships. 
  • Create, review, and enhance job descriptions for open roles, ensuring they follow the standard format and template. 
  • Review candidate inventories and ensure that maximum number of applicants are reached for every job posted. 
  • Utilize analytical skills to track and report on key recruitment metrics – ensuring effective, efficient, and unbiased hiring. 
  • Draft offer letters, present opportunities to candidates, and complete onboarding requirements. 
  • Responsible for confirming reference and vulnerable sector screen checks are completed and received in a timely manner. 
  • Provide an excellent candidate experience throughout the hiring process. 

 

Onboarding, Offboarding & Crossboarding 

  • Organize, facilitate and oversee orientation programs and ensure onboarding of all new hires is completed on time, and in alignment with recruitment priorities and the campus needs. 
  • Preparing and submitting all the required HR related documents such as new hire paperwork, and employee change requests to ensure that the changes are accurately captured in the system. 
  • Processing Onboarding/Offboarding/Crossboarding of new and existing employees including new hire orientation and exit interviews. 
  • Ensuring that devices, equipment and supplies are available and assigned to the new hire the week before their start date. 
  • Ensuring a seamless and memorable candidate-to-new-hire experience 

 

Administration 

  • First line of contact for both internal and external recruitment questions or concerns. 
  • Drafting for approval employment contracts, amendment letters and other correspondence (such as employment verification, written warnings, performance improvement plans, etc.) as  
  • Administering and maintaining employee electronic files inclusive of new hire paperwork, benefits, performance reviews, trackers (compliance, certifications, vulnerable sector, employee milestones), etc. 
  • Contribute to achieve and maintain the People & Culture department KPIs. 
  • Ensuring all recruitment policies and procedures are being understood and followed. 
  • Preparing regular new hire report and updating the organizational chart. 
  • Maintain vulnerable sector check for each employee and be regularly updated, as necessary.
