Civils contractor working on utility projects in London requires an Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of civils / streetworks, such as excavation and reinstatement.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the management of all works related to civil engineering, for example streetworks and laying of pipes and cables
- Manage a team of Project Managers
- Visit site to ensure the smooth running and successful delivery of projects
- Promote culture of health and safety
- Ensure compliance with regulations
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as clients, contractors, suppliers, local authorities and regulatory bodies
- Liaise with councils and Highways Agency
- Monitor project progress against contractual obligations and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks or resolve issues
- Collaborate with internal teams such as engineering, procurement, finance, and legal departments to ensure smooth project execution
- Provide guidance on contractual matters to project teams and assist in resolving any disputes or claims that may arise during project implementation
- Conduct regular contract reviews to identify areas for improvement or cost-saving opportunities
- Carry out appraisals of team members
Experience:
- Background as an Operations Manager, responsible for delivery of civils, in the utilities sector
- Strong knowledge and experience of streetworks / NRSWA
