Come join our team as a clinical team leader at our state of the art, skilled nursing facility.Β  The Nurse Unit Manager directly oversees the care delivery and process implementation on the nursing care units.Β  The position ensures the needs of the residents, resident families and staff are met during the care delivery process.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the care delivery of patients on the nursing care units and acts as a resource nurse for the nursing staff
  • To expedite the patient and family adaptation to the geriatric environment through communication and education
  • Creates an environment of excellent care delivery by the nurses and nurse aides on the nursing care units. Β 
  • Monitors patient care and environment by making daily rounds independently and with the DON
  • Oversees implementation of proper infection control, wound care management and fall reduction processes
  • New patient admissions - assists with the new patient admission process and promotes the initiation of the new patient care plan (48-hour care plan) to ensure the needs are being met
  • Assists nurses with the education new and/or inexperienced nurse aides in proper methods of patient care
  • Provides ongoing in-service training on the spot as problems are identified
  • Assists charge nurses during busy times
  • Accepts, researches and solves complaints/concerns per policy and procedure
  • Performs chart/charting audits to ensure proper care treatments and documentation of same as delegated
  • Acts as a member of the Infection Control, Skin Integrity Team and Fall Reduction Management
  • Performs on-call services as required, ensuring adequate and safe staffing
  • Is directly accountable to DON and ADON and is committed to keeping the director informed of all occurrences in the facility
  • All other duties as delegated by the DON and ADON

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, RN, and have a current license in the state in which he/she is practicing.
  • Needs to be able to work well directly with residents, staff and families.
  • Possesses good organizational skills and follow-up when issues occur.
  • High level problem solving, system/process analysis, critical thinking skills
  • Needs clinical leadership experience and good attention to detail to ensure the facility has appropriate clinical oversight and leadership to promote excellent care delivery
