POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for performing HR related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Director of Human Resources in supporting employees in all offices. This position interacts with employees in all stages of the employee life cycle and carries out responsibilities in the following areas: recruitment and retention, onboarding, offboarding, employee events, and a wide variety of administrative duties. 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, and interns including ad placement, resume review, completing phone screens with candidates, scheduling interviews, follow up with hiring managers, reference checks, and background checks.
  • Continuously works on candidate experience during recruitment process and ensures a smooth orientation and onboarding experience for new employee. 
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Maintains applicant tracking system and makes changes as needed to improve process.
  • Creates and maintains employee files, I’9’s, and performs audits as needed.
  • Assists with benefits by posting information to ARC, sending employee communications, and entering new employee benefit selections in ADP. 
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures for continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Creates time off log for payroll and enters time off into vacation calendar.
  • Coordinates employee events including research, planning, and communication with employees. 
  • Answers HR-related questions and assists employees with human resource-related requests such as obtaining vacation request forms, address changes, etc.
  • Additional administrative duties as needed including preparation of termination paperwork.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors degree
  • 5 years’ human resource experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook as well as internet and e-mail functions
  • Full cycle recruitment experience
  • ADP HRIS experience strongly preferred
  • Able to perform duties with a strong sense of confidentiality
