Position Overview & Purpose
The People Business Partner, reporting to the Vice President, People, will help ensure an exceptional employee experience, and handle various aspects of People partnership. Recruiting and onboarding for high volume hiring is a primary responsibility. The position will also handle performance management, training content development and delivery, and employee relations, and support payroll and benefits.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for exempt and non-exempt positions:
o Collaborate with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings, and complete job descriptions.
o Complete compensation analyses and recommendations for new roles.
o Facilitate weekly search status meetings with hiring team to drive search progress.
o Manage searches through Lever Applicant Tracking System.
o Customize questions and feedback forms for each position and facilitate hiring managers doing the same.
o Interview candidates.
o Acquire background checks and pre-employment assessments.
o Coordinate offers and route offer letters.
· Facilitate an exceptional onboarding experience for all new employees, including:
o Manage, and continue to improve, the automated onboarding process.
o Coordinate seating arrangements with support from the People & Office Coordinators.
o Conduct New Employee Orientation for new hires and contractors and manage updates and changes to process and presentation.
o Conduct employee eligibility (I-9) and eVerify verifications.
o Support hiring managers to ensure all new hires receive an Onboarding Plan.
o Complete check-ins and manage the new hire check-in process to ensure all new hires receive check-in meetings including a Caliper Individual Development Guide review.
· Support biannual goal setting and performance review processes through Lattice performance management system, including supporting all employees in goal-setting and review process and reviewing leader goals for quality.
· Support employee surveys administration including development of action plans based on survey feedback.
· Provide guidance to managers regarding performance improvement and corrective action situations.
· Support the payroll process, reviewing biweekly payroll summary and serving as a backup in case of emergencies.
· Share ideas for ensuring an exceptional employee experience. Raise awareness of any issues impacting employee experience and propose solutions in alignment with People strategy.
· Support compensation administration, including promotion, pay increase, bonus, new hire, and separation pay processing aligned with business needs and People strategy.
· Support benefits administration to ensure an exceptional employee experience.
· Field and resolve general People-related questions such as employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
· Support employee relations issues, perform investigations and track outcomes in accordance with People processes.
· Handle off-boarding process including participating in termination conversations, conducting exit interviews, preparing separation communications, etc., processing unemployment claims and representing the company in unemployment proceedings as necessary.
· Support various special projects related to People systems and processes.
· Perform other duties as required and assigned.

· Superior judgment and decision-making skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS system administration.
REQUIRED Qualifications & Competencies
· Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business.
· Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a strategic Human Resources role.
· Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Recruiter.
· Broad mastery of core HR processes, with experience in recruitment, engagement, performance management, compensation and benefits, and learning and development.
· Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices and practical application in the workplace.
· Experience using HR Information Systems.
· Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPENTENCIES
· Professional Human Resources certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, SPHR, SHRM-SCP)
· Proactive approach, able to identify challenges and suggest solutions.
· Startup experience preferred.
