Job Summary
The HR Generalist is responsible for performing all aspects of Human Resources related functions, including onboarding, compensation, benefit administration, leave administration, and employee relations. Duties include:
1. Onboards new employees:
a. Coordinates first day and HR orientations for new employees.
b. Maintains up-to-date content of benefits and HR orientation.
c. Conducts orientations.
2. Administers employee benefits:
a. Provides information to employees on employee benefits.
b. Serves as the point-person for benefit audits and testing.
c. Leads execution of annual enrollment and other plan changes, including gathering feedback from employees on plans.
d. In conjunction with the Payroll Specialist, manages the Affordable Care Act reporting process.
e. Ensures UCNW benefit offerings remain Affordable Care Act compliant.
3. Ensures new hire wages & current staff increases are in accordance with compensation program requirements:
a. Assesses wages for new hires.
b. Completes 6-month wage assessments for new hires.
c. Assists with annual increase process.
d. Participates in salary surveys.
e. Addresses and works to resolve employee and system compensation issues.
4. Responsible for leave administration and reasonable accommodations:
a. Counsels’ employees and supervisors on leave options and reasonable accommodation process.
b. Reviews and processes leave and reasonable accommodation requests.
c. Tracks hours for approved leaves.
5. Assists with employee relations issues:
a. Provides advice and counseling on a wide range of human resources subjects.
b. Assists staff in resolving work related problems.
c. Acts as an internal expert on UCNW Personnel Policies.
d. Recommends policy revisions.
6. Administers performance review process:
a. Launches introductory performance reviews and annual performance reviews.
b. Review and approves introductory performance reviews.
c. Ensures reviews are completed in a timely manner.
7. Participates in programs to support staff retention:
a. Provides advice and counseling on a wide range of human resources subjects.
8. Completes other duties as assigned.
