Overview of the Roles and Responsibilities:


Our financial controller is a member of the executive leadership team reporting to our VP of Finance, this team is critical in driving the company's financial planning. This position reports to and collaborates with the VP of Finance to create and establish yearly financial objectives that align with the company's plan for growth and expansion.  The controller will strategize with the financial team organizational structure for the company and oversee the various functions and processes ensuring compliance and risk mitigation. 




Job Duties:


This professional will be responsible for preparing the company's financial reports as directed by the VP of Finance, which includes balance sheets and income statements. They will also assist in compliance audits and monitoring internal controls to ensure that everyone is adhering to policies and procedures set forth by the financial team.


This role is critical to assist the VP of Finance in delivering all financial information which will assist the team on developing financial strategy, financial decision-making, identifying efficiencies and opportunities for cost reductions across the business.


The financial controller will be assigned to complete the traditional duties such as closing the books and regulatory compliance, balanced by supporting company strategy, together with the VP of Finance.


Assess and evaluate the financial performance of an organization regarding long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts. 


Provide insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plan of organization. 


Identify, acquire, and implement systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information. 


Identify and acquire capital requirements and funding resources. 


Evaluate departments and make suggestions for automating processes and increasing working efficiency. 


Communicate, engage, and interact with the VP of Finance to deliver on all projects and the day-to-day business financial operations of the company.  


Participate in pivotal decisions as they relate to strategic initiatives and operational models which is led by the VP of Finance and the team. 


Collaborate with VP of Finance with regards to client pricing to ensure company profitability. 


Implement policies, procedures and processes as deemed appropriate by senior leadership team. 


Process Maps and SOPs for department functions. 



Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting:


Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations. 


Develop and maintain monthly operating budget and annual company operating budget. 


Prepare and present monthly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss, forecast vs. budget and weekly cash flow. 



Accounting, General Ledger, Administration and Operations:


Prepare and communicate financial statements. 


Ensure compliance regarding all financial functions. 


Work with Human Resources to ensure appropriate legal compliance. 


Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, compliance, and financial procedures. 


Perform the month-end closing process, constantly reviewing procedures while eliminating inefficiencies. 


Prepare and review all month-end closing activities and process general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts and overhead cost allocation. 


Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems! 


Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Manage preparation and support of all external audits. 


Work with the VP of Finance on projects and financial reports which are required to enhance their knowledge of the company!



Financial Management:


Manage cash flow planning process and ensure funds availability. 


Maintain outstanding banking relationships and strategic alliances with vendors and business partners. 


Utilize forward-looking models and activity-based analyses to provide financial insight into the organization's plans and operating budgets. 


Maintain accounts payable, accounts receivable and provide guidance relating to the collection process. 


Responsible for the timely process of payroll




Financial Relations and Policies:


Engage with VP of Finance to develop short term and long-term plans, projections, and budgets. 


Represent company to banks, financial partners, institutions, investors, public auditors, and officials. 


Remain current on audit best practices as well as state, federal and local laws.

They will also have a pivotal role in staying current on finance technology to help the finance team to be successful in finding and implementing innovative technology.


The Financial Controller is also part of the stakeholder management team which is led by the VP of Finance; advising company managers on operations activities based on knowledge of the underlying business.

Position Requirements:


Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance 


CPA preferred. 


6 years minimum experience as a Financial Controller. 


10+ years total accounting or finance experience. 


Outstanding knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), compliance and Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting. 


Experience in a Contact Center Environment. 


Outstanding communication, interpersonal skills, and presentation skills. 


Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence. 


Excellent analytical, reasoning, and critical thinking skills. 


Experience collaborating with external auditors, internal controls, and compliance-related issues. 


Must be able to work at a detailed level, understanding every nuance of the accounting process and the transactional data in the general ledger, financial statements, and compliance documents for the company.
