ADAC’s paid summer internship program takes place each year in May and runs through August. For 13 weeks, you will apply the concepts you have learned in the classroom to actual business situations and scenarios. Take advantage of your summer break to build your resume, learn and grow in a real-world environment.

The program features collaboration among your fellow interns and ADAC professionals. In addition to team-based community outreach and philanthropic initiatives, the internship program concludes with a final joint capstone project and presentation. The project requires you to apply your research, problem solving and innovation skills to understand and identify a solution to a specific and relevant company business opportunity or challenge.

To complete the capstone, your program cohort will formally present your recommendations to ADAC’s executive team. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Perform compensation and job description analysis - collect information about the duties, responsibilities, necessary skills, outcomes, and work environment of a particular job and compare to benchmark market data for the appropriate market comparison.
    1. Job analysis – each salaried job should be evaluate job skill level and basic characteristics of current employees.
    2. Determine the accuracy between current ADAC job descriptions and the jobs we benchmark them against in the market.
    3. Analyze the data found and revise the compensation data for each position identified into the template
    4. Summarize the benchmarking compensation data
    5. Perform job evaluations of the data with each departmental director and update job descriptions as necessary
  2. Assist in the establishment and achievement of entering in new company competencies for each job family into the HRIS.
  3. Assist in the communication and follow-up in the mid-year review process for salaried associates.
  4. Work alongside the corporate HR team to maintain all documents and data entry into the HRIS as needs arise

Education & Experience:

  • At least 2 years worked toward bachelor’s degree, preferably toward a business designation, Human Resources major preferred
  • At least 1 year of previous work experience with a standardized schedule
  • Previous internship in a business setting with time spent in Human Resources or Finance preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Microsoft windows knowledge
  • Basic Excel skills
  • Ability to use and create a PowerPoint presentation
  • Knowledge of email, preferably Outlook 
  • Ability to perform basic internet search functions and the ability to research a topic and present to management
