JOB SUMMARY

The Controller is responsible for maintaining American Financing Corporation's strategy, executing the short and long-term business plans, policies, and ongoing best practices and efficiency improvement initiatives to support our vision. Ultimately this role is responsible for all financial reporting aspects of American Financing Corporation

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • 5 plus years of managerial accounting and financial management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. CPA and/or CMA preferred
  • Mortgage experience preferred
  • Experience using Loan Vision preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work without direct supervision, and efficiently manage tasks and time

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Produce monthly financial statements and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Coordinate annual financial statement audit and tax preparation with the external accounting firm
• Monitor daily cash flow between multiple bank accounts
• Maintain compliance with warehouse bank covenants
• Train & supervise a team responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable, loan servicing; conduct annual performance appraisals and develop and facilitate career growth plans
• Develop and monitor compliance with internal controls
• Prepare and submit required quarterly and annual regulatory reports
• Review/ Approve/ enter payroll entries in accounting software
• Assist with any state compliance exams throughout the year and provide all accounting required data
• Review/ approve annual 1098/1099 submission
• Manage intercompany invoices, payroll, and additional tasks for co-owned companies
• Process quarterly MBFRF/ NMLS financial reporting quarterly
• Other finance and administrative duties as required

Compensation: Base + Bonus $130K to 180K annually
