We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Automotive Dealership Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial management skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to provide strategic financial insights. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate monthly financial statements, maintaining proper controls, and supporting the overall financial health of our dealership.  


Compensation: $170,000/year + DOE


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare and provide accurate monthly financial statements. 
  • Develop and enforce necessary controls for proper conduct of business. 
  • Review all accounting schedules and aging of payables and receivables. 
  • Lead and motive your team 
  • Review reconciliations such as CAVS gross reports, flooring, incentives and balance sheet reconciliations. 
  • Generate trending variance reports  
  • Conduct vehicle and parts physical inventory reconciliations. 
  • Reconcile factory monies and bank accounts. 
  • Oversee fixed asset reconciliations  
  • Monthly and/or Quarterly CDTFA filings such as sales tax, tire tax, and battery tax 
  • Provide financial insight and analysis to support strategic decision making 
  • Work closely with General Managers to develop accurate financial forecasts 
  • Lead department head meetings weekly and review AR, etc 
  • Manage Dealership license renewals. 

Qualifications 

  • Minimum of 5 years in a position of Controller in an Automotive Dealership. 
  • Minimum 2 years experience in CDK 
  • Microsoft Excel Proficiency including Vlookups, Sumifs, Pivot Tables 
  • A self-starter with a strong ethical compass. 
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks. 
  • Tech-savvy, comfortable with web-based programs, and proficient in Excel. 
  • Strong foundation in financial management and accounting principles. 
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to provide strategic financial insights. 
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in team building and conflict resolution 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • A team player who is coachable and strives to grow. 
  • Someone who enjoys a friendly, collaborative workplace and isn't afraid of hard work, balanced with fun and recognition. 
  • Current California Driver's License
