PURPOSE
Assist with coding and compliance auditing initiatives. Carries out all duties while respecting patient confidentiality and promoting the mission and philosophy of the organization supported.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Completes assigned chart reviews and audits to ensure compliance with coding and documentation standards.
- Works assigned charge review work queues in a timely manner.
- Works closely with all departments such as providers, business office staff, lab, radiology, IT and Billing/Collections departments to assist in accuracy of billed charges.
- Researches, analyzes, and responds to inquiries regarding coding and documentation.
- Assists with responses to regulatory and/or external coding and compliance audits.
- Maintains knowledge of coding and documentation requirements. Keeps abreast of industry trends and communication.
- Adheres to all company policies, including but not limited to, OSHA, HIPAA, compliance and Code of Conduct.
- Regular and dependable attendance.
- Follows the core competencies set forth by the Company, which are available for review on CMSweb.

- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Required: High school diploma or GED. Two (2) or more years of experience working in coding and auditing.
Preferred: Four (4) or more years of experience in Coding and Auditing.
Certificate/License
- Current applicable industry recognized credential (i.e. CPC, RHIA, RHIT)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of legal, regulatory, and policy compliance issues related to medical coding and billing procedures and documentation.

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri; 8-5 (Flexible) (Remote)
Work Location: Training and orientation at our Administrative facility. Work-from-home opportunities after training complete. Must reside in Texas and be willing to attend on-site training and occasional in-person department meetings in Austin, TX.
