WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The Federal Business Development Manager will lead federal business development, driving growth through targeted relationship management and proactive sales execution. This role is essential for expanding MGT’s footprint in the federal market by understanding our capabilities, delivering solutions that meet federal needs, and optimizing MGT’s response to new opportunities.
In this role you will:
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Owns strategy and sales execution for PRISM contract vehicle in partnership with Guidehouse
- Demand Generation: Lead targeted outreach initiatives, leveraging market intelligence to identify opportunities.
- Sales Strategy Development: Craft and implement sales strategies for existing and new accounts to maximize win rates.
- Provides strategic sales enablement for reactive Task Order Requests (TORs) and proactive client engagements. â
- Leads targeted demand generation supported by market intelligence (e.g., Pre-TOR outreach and follow-up). â
Client Relationship Management
- Primary Liaison for Federal Partnerships: Act as the main point of contact for federal partnerships, fostering relationships and ensuring alignment with contract requirements.
- Client Engagement: Develop and nurture relationships with clients, providing ongoing support and identifying opportunities for additional services.
Market Strategy
- Facilitates business intelligence functions to support market strategies aimed at achieving revenue targets; leads subcontractor partnerships; and supports reporting and general management
- Identify and Pursue Growth Channels: Hunt for new business opportunities through research and leverage MGT’s federal contracting resources, identifying cooperative contracts, MSAs, and new procurement vehicles.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal resources and subcontractor partners to drive demand generation and support end-to-end sales processes.
Strategic Leadership
- Coordinates and leverages internal resources to facilitate success through OG BDMs, PDCs, Marketing/Comms, SMEs, offshore resources, etc.â
- Lead Proposal Coordination: Work closely with the proposal team, ensuring alignment with client specifications and internal objectives. Facilitate timely, high-impact proposal and presentation submissions.
- Market Intelligence Gathering: Conduct research and analysis on client missions, competitor landscapes, and internal capabilities to develop informed proposals that resonate with client needs.
- Client-Focused Presentations: Support oral presentations and demonstrations for MGT opportunities, aligning with client expectations and ensuring clear articulation of MGT’s value.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Five (5) or more years in Federal sector business development, with a strong understanding of federal procurement processes and government contracting.
- Sales Expertise: Proficiency with CRM tools, especially Salesforce, and expertise in lead generation, pipeline management, and sales strategy within the Federal sector.
- Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Capable of analyzing market trends, conducting client needs assessments, and applying insights to inform sales strategies and proposal development.
- Relationship-Building Skills: Strong interpersonal skills for building and maintaining high-trust client and partner relationships.
- Initiative & Adaptability: A proactive, solution-oriented approach, capable of working independently in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to convey complex information in an accessible manner.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel for client engagements, national meetings, or events as required
Preferred:
- Master's in business or public administration
- Previous experience working at a Management Consulting firm
- Previous experience in federal capture management and sales
