The scope of the role is both exciting and challenging as we look to add to our Business Development team by recruiting more experienced and well connected Industry & Commercial (I&C) Business Development Managers. These are senior level positions that will accelerate our sales growth in the I&C connections market throughout Great Britain.

While creating a vibrant, profitable, and growing construction business that is regarded as an expert in its field is our aim, enabling the adoption of electrical asset within the group is the key driver for eSN alongside our sister company TriConnex. We are the engines that provide the vast majority of new assets to our IDNO Advanced Electricity Networks Limited (AEN). 

So, what will you be doing?
The prime responsibility for this role is the growth of eSmart Networks sales across I&C ICP electricity grid connections that feed our new IDNO with electricity assets in the following example key market segments:

  • Delivery Distribution Centres (DDCs)
  • Data centres
  • Business Parks
  • Commercial buildings
  • Industrial connections
  • Manufacturing plants

In line with the growth expectations of the business, full business plans and budgets are in place, with detailed targets and expectations for the above market segments.

We are looking for you to deliver strong growth in the areas outlined above, both in the short and medium term. Success for this role will be the achievement of the ambitious targets relating to these sectors – the budgets, systems and people are in place, along with a market leading value proposition.

To support the growth delivery, you will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Delivering the agreed sales targets, at the required margins
  • Lead Generation
  • Prospecting potential clients
  • Account Management of allocated existing key customers to maximise returns.  
  • Leading all aspects of the bid and tendering process (with support from the existing design, bid writing and estimating teams)
  • Planning and executing the marketing plans, including trade shows and advertising
  • Keeping the CRM and sales reporting systems up to date
  • Representing eSmart Networks at external industry events

What are we looking for?
These are key appointments for eSmart Networks that will contribute significantly to the next phase of the company’s growth. As such, we are looking for an exceptional individual with a high level of drive and track record of driving sales growth in a similar industry.

Ideally, you will be a recognised senior leader within the ICP or IDNO sector, who can leverage their networks to accelerate the growth of eSmart Networks. You will have to hit the ground running, a strong network and detailed understanding of the sector, including the routes to market and decision makers for the relevant market segments is essential.

We will expect you to have the ability to influence and engage key stakeholders, both internal and external, using your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, helping to build and maintain relationships and promote the company’s brand.

Teamwork is key, as you will be working with and across functional teams.   This, coupled with demonstrable previous experience of working at Business Development Manager level within a similar organisation, an existing professional network in the sector and a proven record of sales success in a similar dynamic corporate setting, will aid your expression of interest.
