Position Overview:
As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for business development strategy and execution. Responsible for understanding the clients' requirements to ensure that the operations team are solving the client's problems. Responsible for creating sales pipeline and maintaining a database of prospective clients. This role directly reports to the Regional Vice President of Sales.
Job Description:
- Responsible for consulting with customers with a logistics need, including, Import, Export, Air Freight and Ocean Freight services.
- Creating new business through contact with prospective customers in the assigned market.
- Selling new services and promoting existing services to new and established customers
- Responsible for identifying market trends and competitive rate actions and communicating those trends to the Management team.
- Responsible for identifying, targeting, qualifying, and quantifying with directed sales that meet and exceed the business plan forecast.
- Develop, engage, and maintain short and long-term forecasts.
- Achieve Gross profit targets and other company driven targets.
- Issuing and maintaining regional RFQ's and proposals.
- Identifying the competitive service strengths and weaknesses of the company and making recommendations to constantly improve services.
- Reporting weekly activities and monthly sales pipeline.
- Responsible for other duties including sales presentations, writing sales proposing, implementation, creating and adding to existing marketing materials.
- Extensive regional travel and occasional National and International travel. The employee must be able to travel locally over 50% of the time.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Proven record of attracting new business
- Proven record of achieving sales targets
- Operational knowledge of transportation and the logistics industry an advantage
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Team player with a can-do attitude.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience preferred.
- 5+ years of applicable experience in International/Domestic Freight Sales.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: 75,000 to 125,000

Schedule: 8-hour shift
Work Location: Remote-on the road.
